    Telehealth

Jan 2023: We require that any patients with flu symptoms or a covid19 contact please book a telehealth consultation for the doctors to assist you.

​

>> For telehealth to be bulk billed you must have been seen face to face in the last 12 months. This is the rule by Medicare.

​

Private telehealth consultations are available for those not eligible for a bulk billed consultation. 

​

Fees & Appointments

Jan 2023 UPDATE: Our Practice has been exclusively bulk billing since it was established. However, due to increased costs associated with delivering the highest quality of services, this transition is necessary to continue providing you and your family with the highest quality healthcare. 

​

From 1st January 2023 Primacare Family Medical Centre will be transitioning to mixed-billing consultations.

​

Existing patients (who have consulted within the last 12months) will be bulk billed Monday to Friday.

 

New Patients and patients who haven't consulted in the last 12m (for their first consultation) and any Saturday consultations will attract a $30 out-of-pocket gap fee on top of the medicare rebate.

​

For aged pensioners and healthcare card holders, DVA, and disability pension card holders

- the new patient gap fee is reduced to $20 for the first consult (Mon-Sat)

- for existing Health care car/DVA patients (who have consulted within the last 12 months) we will continue to bulk bill (Mon-Sat). 

​

You will be charged the full amount and can then claim the rebate. 

For Medicare EasyClaim rebates, the rebate can only be processed via debit/eftpos only and not credit card. Please ensure you update your bank details with your Medicare account to allow the rebate to be deposited into your account by Medicare within 48 hours.. Cards attract a 1.8% surcharge.

Consultations with the doctors are by appointment, We try to accommodate walk ins and on the day appointments but strongly recommend booking an appointment to avoid disappointment.

We do not provide email consultations. We provide phone/video consultations for people who meet the medicare criteria for these consultations.

After Hours

In an Emergency dial 000. The closest hospitals are Canterbury Hospital (Campsie), Bankstown Hospital (Bankstown) or St George Hospital (Kogarah).

If you would like to contact a doctor after hours, you may call 9759 8111 for after hours arrangements.

Compliments and Complaints

If there is a complaint the Practice will then attempt to resolve it in accordance with its complaint resolution process.

​

In the instance where you are dissatisfied with the level of service provided within the clinic we encourage you to express any feedback in writing to the practice staff. The practice managers will make time to discuss the matter with you.

Privacy Policy

Australian privacy legislation applies to all personal health information recorded in electronic and paper records. All records must be kept secure to protect against unauthorised access.

Our practice follows the guidelines of the RACGP’s Privacy and managing health information in general practice resource. The resource incorporates federal and state privacy legislation, and the Australian Privacy Principles, which requires that your personal information is kept private and secure.
